Miriam Haskell was an American designer of costume jewelry. Haskell was a pioneer of equality who founded her own company, one that still bears her name. With her creative partner, Frank Hess, she invented affordable pieces of stunning originality from the 1920s through the 1960s. Vintage examples and samples of Miriam Haskell designs are now much sought, held in both private collections and museums internationally.

Her most loyal customers included Lucille Ball, Gloria Vanderbilt, the Duchess of Windsor and Joan Crawford, who owned a set of almost every Haskell ever produced. And she was a Westchester County local! She had a mansion built on the Hudson River near Ossining that she called Sainte Claire Cottage.
