CONSIGNMENT IN TARRYTOWN: PLEASE READ 〰️

Our Tarrytown storefront, location at 54 Main St, Tarrytown NY Phone number: 914-631-3426

— ALL CONSIGNORS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN A PAPER CONTRACT IN STORE, AND FOLLOW ALL PROCEDURES OUTLINED BELOW—

All consignors queue up down the hallway upon arrival and are seen on a first come first serve basis. A staff member will check you in. We review your items and show you what we are accepting. All items that we can not accept are returned to you at this time.

Do not leave your bag/s unattended in the store unless a staff member has labeled them and taken them for the queue.

——— WE DO NOT RESERVE TIME SPOTS FOR WALK-INS ———

If you are a NEW CONSIGNOR: There is a $5 fee (please pay in cash) that will be waived if you shop that day or if we can not accept any items for consignment.

Additionally, we must ACCEPT at least 3 items to open an account with you, so you must BRING AT LEAST 5 and up to 15 excellent seasonal items for us to consider. Reach out by phone if you have questions about what that means.

1. DO NOT bring more than 15 items including shoes, bags, scarves and jewelry. Items like two piece suits or ensembles that are meant to go together/were originally sold together may be counted as one piece.

—>If you bring more than 15 or are unsure of how many you brought, you will be asked to sort and count your items out in your car before we will add you to the queue list.

2. Clean and odor-free SEASONAL items only. A good question to ask yourself when choosing what to bring is, “would I be excited to see this in a shop?” Primarily consider an items condition and quality, as style is subjective and trends are always changing.

3. All items MUST be folded neatly in 1-2 bags or a bin (no garbage bags or weak paper bags please!), with all hangers and dry cleaner bags removed (see image below for an example of what we mean). Seasonally appropriate leather and suede pieces can be brought in on hangers to reduce damaging creases. If you need a reusable bag, please come in and request one, we are happy to provide you with a suitable bag.

—>If you bring items other than leather on hangers or have them loose in your arms, you will be asked to fold and bag your items out in your car before we will add you to the queue list.

4. Limit ONE visit per consignor per month OR SEASON (see date section for specifics), per location. If you are consigning your own items, you may not bring an additional 15 items for someone else who is not physically present.

5. Prepare to wait if there is anyone ahead of you (wait times can vary so don’t forget to pay the parking meter). We need you to be present when we look through your items, so if you'd like to step out you must let us know and return by the time we specify or you forfeit your place in the queue.

— If you leave your items unattended and do not return BEFORE THE WALK-IN WINDOW HAS ENDED, you forfeit your items to the shop.

6. Yes, we take both vintage and modern items, as long as they're stylish and good quality. If you would like to learn more about how to choose what to bring to maximize your chances of having items selected for consignment, please visit the shop before you come to consign and have a look around, or check our Instagram @consigntrilogy

An example of a nice way to organize your items for us to review. Please do not individually bag items and respectfully do not bring them crumpled in a garbage bag.

TARRYTOWN SPRING CONSIGNMENT

We are offering a select number of timed appointments this month, and one normal walk-in date on Sunday March 22nd from 1-4pm

Once appointment slots are full, you may check as often as you like to try to snag a spot as people cancel. If you need to cancel, you must do so on the sign up website, please do not email or call us to do it because we can’t. Please be courteous in your timing with cancellations so that others have a chance to take your spot.

All normal walk-in procedures are in effect for appointments. We reserve the right to refuse service so we can keep on schedule for others.

Additionally, all no-shows will lose the chance to make an appointment next month.

Guidance on Choosing Items for March:

BESTSELLERS LIST: cashmere tees and tank tops, cheerful blouses and sweaters in cotton and linen, sterling rings, statement pieces, vintage beauties, covetable label handbags (1970s-2000s COACH is very desirable), and we are in particular need of skirts and cute pants!

Spring Coats! Colors and patterns, light weight materials, short trench coats

Popular styles at the moment are Classic Nostalgia (think vintage Ralph Lauren, tailored blazers, romantic florals), Playful (think cheerful layers, bright colors pattern pairings, unexpected designs and color combinations), low waist skirts, clutches and (shockingly) 2010s styles

Clean, stylish shoes and spring boots/booties (cowboy boots welcome) in great condition (not crumpled, dusty, peeling, dirty or stiff! Kindly clean inside and out with a wet wipe so we can consider taking them on consignment)

Lightweight layerable sweaters and jackets in ideally natural materials like linen, cotton, silk, ramie (synthetics are okay if the style/brand is right for us).

Skirts, pants, blouses and dresses in great materials and styles

Cool vintage accessories, sterling silver, stone and good quality gold tone stylish jewelry (no modern department store or mall brand costume jewelry please), certain styles of longer pendant necklaces and brooches are coming back in style

Square and sash scarves in silk, linen, cotton, vintage nylon or lace (no modern acrylic or polyester ideally)

Quality (ideally real leather) belts and handbags with little to no damage (great spring colors and light neutrals are a big bonus!)

LEATHER AND OVERSIZED DENIM JACKETS ARE ALWAYS WELCOMED!

We are pretty full on jeans at this time but would be happy to see some awesome ones! NO skinny jeans please!

Thank you for taking the time to read through and then curate a selection of wonderful items for us to consider for consignment!

Make sure you have signed up for our email mailing list so you are notified of walk-in dates as soon as they are announced!

It is highly unlikely that we will cancel a walk-in day, but we are a small business run buy human beings so things are bound to happen! We will be sure to email if anything changes, but if you’re coming from far away and want to call ahead to confirm, please do.

Give your items a sniff...if you can smell moth balls, body odor, cigarette smoke or perfume, so can customers, so please be sure to thoroughly air them out and wash everything washable before your appointment. We can't accept things with odors. None of us should ever consign OR DONATE unwashed clothes!

A good rule of thumb to ask yourself - would you want to buy the item in the condition it is in? Check garments underarms for deodorant residue, pants hems for dirt or wear, and generally look for spots, stains, pilling, and other damages. These issues will prevent us from taking items that otherwise might pass muster. We will always suggest items with issues like these be recycled rather than donated. >Click here< for more information.

Bringing valuable items? If you plan on bringing items that you will need to make a certain amount of money on, please come to your appointment prepared with that amount so we can decide whether or not we can accept them for consignment right there on the spot.

We accept seasonal items for women and men in a colorfully broad range of styles, labels and sizes (from petites to plus sizes). Costume and covetable jewelry, clothing, shoes, handbags and seasonal scarves and hats are accepted in gently-used, like-new or new condition, ideally with minimal signs of wear; but seeing as recycling is our driving force, we do accept a limited amount of desirable items with moderate signs of wear and price them to sell based on their condition. Please read on for more specific guidelines regarding what we do and do not take.

While we do accept a broad range of styles, sizes and brands, we are still very selective. Your items may be great, but just not the right fit for this particular shop. We don't take very many items from fast fashion brands (like Forever 21, H&M, Old Navy, Target and Walmart) because the resale value is almost nothing. Please recycle these items (see our Recycle tab for more information)!
